The COVID-19 global pandemic has had wide-ranging effects on not only human life, but also on our planet as a whole. Some of these effects are clearly observable from orbit, giving us the opportunity to better understand and visualize the impact of humans on our world. Dr. Tanya Harrison, Director of Science Strategy for the federal arm of Planet Labs, discusses what the Planet constellations of satellites have been able to capture from orbit, and the subsequent research done by scientists on the ground on these effects of COVID-19.
